Sergeant Scott Bernard
Sergeant Scott Bernard has been with the department since 2009, starting his professional law enforcement career with other agencies in Louisiana beginning in 2000. He has 11 years of experience overall. In 2001 after the attacks on our country on September 11th, he put his path as a police officer on hold to honorably serve the next four years in the United States Air Force in the Global War on Terror.
Upon returning home from service he immediately set to exchanging one uniform for another with a high volume call agency, where he gained invaluable experience that he brings to the department and the community at large today. Over the span of his policing career he has served in various roles and details to include tactical team member, warrant service, narcotics operations, and as criminal investigator, whereas all such positions have prepared him well in his knowledge base to serve in a his current role as a Patrol Supervisor.
He is a Louisiana native and grew up in a law enforcement/service orientated family, and takes great pride in carrying on this tradition of service with being able to serve the citizens of Youngsville.
Although the work load of a patrol supervisor does not afford much time to oneself, when time permits, he can be found spending time with family, friends, and his “kids”, or pursuing courses of formal and in-formal study related to his profession.
