Officer Eric Segura
Officer Eric Segura began his law enforcement career with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s office in 2000 as a Jailer. His career with the Sheriff’s Office began in March of 2000 in the department’s jail. In July of 2000 he went to work with the Abbeville Police Department in the Patrol Division as a Patrolman. While Eric was employed with the Abbeville Police Department where he graduated the 103rd class at the ALETA Police Academy. Eric continued his employment with the Abbeville Police Department until March of 2001 where he joined the New Iberia City Police Department. Eric started his career with the City of New Iberia as a Patrolman / Bike Patrol, Swat for the next 4 and a half years. While Eric was with the City of New Iberia he attended several schools (T-Cap, Criminal Patrol, Basic Narcotics, Gang school and pursuit driving). Eric continued his employment until July of 2004 when the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office took over the city. Eric then Began with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s office as a Patrolman. A short time later Eric climbed the ranks and became a Sargent on patrol until 2005 where Eric took a break from police work. In November of 2005 Eric went back and started his career again at the Abbeville Police Department as a Patrolman / FTO (Field training Officer) during the next 3 years Eric worked as a Patrolman, Narcotics Agent and a Detective.
In August of 2008, Eric ended his career with Abbeville and started his career with the Iberia Parish Office. During his tenure as a Patrolman / FTO (Field Training Officer) with Iberia Parish Eric again attended several schools to better his career. In 2010, Eric was transferred and promoted to Sargent in the IMPACT Division. Eric worked in the IMPACT Division for the next three years as a Sargent. In 2013, Eric was transferred back to the Patrol Division where he continued his career until June of 2015 where he joined the Youngsville Police Department as a patrolman. “I enjoy serving the great community of Youngsville, LA.”
