Assistant Chief, Nick Latiolais
Nick Latiolais is a veteran law enforcement professional who serves as the department’s Assistant Chief of Police. In this position, he is responsible for overseeing all divisions within the Youngsville Police Department. Entering his 2nd year of service with the department, Nick has 21 years of experience in law enforcement in the following fields: Corrections, Patrol, Patrol K-9, Patrol Street team (S.T.A.R), Metro Narcotics (Agent), DEA Task Force Agent, Criminal Investigations, Supervised Metro Narcotics. Nick was also selected to the Sheriff’s S.W.A.T. team as an operator, then worked up to a team leader. After several years, Nick was then selected to S.W.A.T Assistant Commander. During Nick’s 21 years of law enforcement, he attended numerous trainings and several instructor certifications courses. Nick has vast law enforcement knowledge and experience which makes him an asset to the Youngsville Police Department.
A native of Breaux Bridge, Nick has been a resident of Youngsville for the past 26 years and his in-laws are lifelong residents of Youngsville. Nick still believes that a hand shake and a man’s word still mean something. Nick is proud to serve the citizens of Youngsville where there are strong family values. He believes in educating the citizens of Youngsville on the current criminal activity in the surrounding areas so they can have an active part in keeping Youngsville a safer place to live. Nick believes training officers to better serve the community is the key to crime prevention and solving crimes.
