ETHAN L. ERNST (W/M DOB: 8-3-92 212 CRESTHILL DR YOUNGSVILLE, LA 70592)
On June 14, 2015, detectives with the criminal investigation unit of the Youngsville Police Department received reports of vehicle burglaries and attempted vehicle burglaries that had occurred in the parking lot of the Youngsville Sports Complex located 308 Savoy Rd.
During these burglaries a K-2 cooler and a Yeti cooler had been taken from the backs of the vehicles that they were in. An attempted vehicle burglary where suspect tried to take a third cooler (Yeti model), but was seen by witness and the suspect placed the cooler back in the back of the truck. The witness was able to get the license plate number off the back of the suspect’s vehicle that he was driving and gave that information to the detectives.
During the investigation, detective were able to identify Mr. Ethan L. Ernst as being the driver of the vehicle that witness saw stealing the coolers. On June 16, 2015 Mr. Ernst was located and brought to the criminal investigation unit at Youngsville Police department where he was questioned about the burglaries at the sports complex.
During questioning, Mr. Ernst admitted to committing the burglaries in the sports complex parking lot on the 14th and has given information on who he sold the coolers to. Detective are in the process of recovering the coolers to return to the owners. The K-2 cooler valued at $289.00, Yeti coolers valued at $350.00 each. Mr. Ernst was transported to the Lafayette Parish Correction Center and book without incident on 2 counts of vehicle burglary of a vehicle and attempted burglary of a vehicle.
